Pettitt's Bakery

Exhibit Design Ltd.

Client: Pettitt's SuperValu

This project resonated with me personally because Pettitt's Supervalu has always been my local supermarket growing up.

The Pettitt family has a long history of retailing in Wexford, with the first grocery, wine and spirits business established in 1825. Pettitt's Supervalu now operates in seven different locations. They have a brilliant reputation for being customer and community focused.

Challenge

Pettitt's came to Exhibit because they wanted to create a brand identity and a simple, modern interior for their in-house bakery.

Overview

Myself and graphic designer, Yvonne Keogh developed a simple logo based on the existing Pettitt's logo. We chose a simple primary colour palette of black, pomegranate and grapefruit. As part of the brand we created a series of icons, geometric patterns and typographic design iterations.

The interior featured these distinctive visual elements alongside warm, natural finishes. As part of the brand roll-out we oversaw the production and installation of the brand identity, signage, point-of-sale, ticketing, labels and packaging. We also managed the visual merchandising and product display design, which was implemented by Cheryl Leahy.

Since it's completion in both the Gorey and Wexford stores, the Pettitt's Bakery has become very popular producing up to 30 different types of bread and 60 different confectionary products every day.
